It's very pleasing that we continue to build momentum towards the Club championship for 13-14. We are 12 points ahead but there are only 32 points among the first four...Syd Uni, Sutherland, Randwick, Nth Dist. From now on, every run counts.
On Saturday, there were emphatic wins for 1sts and 2nds and a thrilling win for 5ths. In 2nds, Steve Hobden's 121 no off 95 balls was a commanding innings, well worth the price of admission to Uni 1!
But I want to look at an enticing future. In 4ths, the two Ryans deserve notice. Ryan Danne opens the batting and bowls tidy medium pacers. Ryan Kurtz bowls promising leg spin and 2 wickets on Sat were well deserved. And both dads are great supporters! Now think 10 years into the future. Most of the current players are no longer playing. But the 2 Ryans are still only 27 years old and hopefully leading the Club through another decade of success. Tantalising!
But let's keep aiming for this season's Club championship in our 149th year!
