GENERAL manager
COLIN ROBERTSON
Colin has joined SUCC as the General Manager of the Club. He brings with him a wealth of business and operational experience, as well as an incredible passion for both cricket and the Club. Colin also represented the Zimbabwean national side throughout the 1980’s.
Colin will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the Club are run effectively. We are excited to welcome Colin on board!

alex blackwell
Alex is a former Australian cricket captain who led Australia to Twenty20 World Cup and Ashes victories. She is a five-time World Cup winner. Alex is an accredited high performance (level 3) cricket coach, who will lead the SUCC women’s program for a 4th consecutive season in 2026/27. Alex was previously head coach of the Lancashire Thunder in the 2018 Women’s Super League, and is currently coaching in the Cricket NSW pathway as a batting and fielding specialist.
As a founding member and Co-Patron of the Universities Women’s Cricket Club (UWCC, established in 2004), Alex was instrumental in the merger with SUCC in 2023. Women’s cricket at Sydney University dates back to the 1930s, with our first and second women’s test captains, Margaret Peden and Mollie Dive, both studying and playing here. Alex is passionate about maintaining a connection between the contemporary game and its rich history.
Alex is the all-time leading run scorer for the NSW Breakers with 4788 runs at an average of 46.94 from 139 matches, including 11 centuries and 30 half-centuries. Alex played for the NSW Breakers in 17 consecutive seasons, winning 16 national titles, including 10 WNCL titles in a row, and 9 national title victories as NSW Captain. Alex also led the Sydney Thunder to win the inaugural WBBL title. She is one of Australian cricket’s most successful captains, male or female.
When Alex retired from playing, Cricket NSW named the Sydney Thunder WBBL player of the year award the “Alex Blackwell Medal” to recognise her immense contribution to the game.
In 2021, Alex was awarded honorary life membership to the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). She was invited by the MCC to ring the five minute bell on the final day of the first ever women’s test match at Lords in July 2026. Always at the forefront for the women’s game, advocating for increased pay and more opportunities for women, in 2019 Alex was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of NSW for eminent service to society.
In 2026 Alex was inducted into the Wagga Wagga Sports Hall of Fame, the NSW Cricket Hall of Fame and the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. Away from coaching, Alex is a commentator for Fox Cricket and a genetic counsellor at Sydney Children’s Hospital.
Director Of Coaching Men’s Program RHYS wILLIAMS
Rhys steps into the role of Director of Coaching, taking over the reins from Nick Larkin following Nick's departure to WA — big shoes to fill, and Rhys is more than ready for the challenge.
Rhys brings a wealth of grade cricket experience, having played 1st Grade for Bankstown before returning to SUCC. Now entering his third year back with the Club, he moves into full management of the program after two seasons building his credentials as 1st Grade coach — a period that saw him earn the trust and respect of players and staff alike.
Known for his meticulous approach to both pre-season and in-season planning, Rhys leaves nothing to chance in preparing his teams to compete at the highest level. The Club is excited to have him leading the coaching program, and to see him continue building on the strong relationships he has already developed with staff and players across the entire Club.

The Club is delighted to welcome Greg as our new top squad coach.
Greg is a highly experienced cricket coach with over 25 years of coaching across individual, representative, and elite levels. He brings a proven track record of building high-performance environments, developing players, and leading premiership-winning teams. Greg has extensive experience working with international and first-class cricketers, with a strong focus on culture, discipline, and accountability.

VOLUNTEER ROLES
Leading into the 2024-25 NSW Premier Cricket season, the Club is looking to fill a range of volunteer roles that are crucial to the ongoing viability of the Club.
SCORERS
The Club is seeking interest in cricket scoring roles from 3rd to 5th Grade, Metropolitan Cup, Poidevin-Gray Shield and A.W. Green Shield teams. The Club provides a range of benefits to our scorers including support to attend seminars/courses, lunches, travel costs and complimentary tickets to various Club events.
