This weekend sees Sydney University meet Sydney in Round 11 of the Sydney Grade Cricket Competition. First grade has the home game in a 2-Day affair, while second, third, fourth and fifth grades will play at Drummoyne Oval, St Paul’s College, Ryde Oval and Kensington Oval respectively.

With the McDonald's First Grade Limited-Overs Competition now taking a break until the Qualifying Finals on February 15, first grade still have some gains to make to live up to their fine record as reigning premiers, 2010/2011 premiers and 2011/2012 premiers. Currently placed 11th on 24 points, Uni will be after an emphatic win against the 17th place Sydney as they look to make a late surge with five rounds to go before the qualifying finals on March 21.

Second grade continue in a fashionable lead in first place on 51 points ahead of Northern Districts (41 points). Lining up against the 11th placed Sydney (28 points), the premiers of a spectacular three previous seasons will be confident to go out and solidify their dominance once again.

A win will also be welcomed in third grade when they, currently in 8th place on 30 points, take on their Sydney equivalent (20th place on 6 points). We can also be confident that fifth grade (in 5th place on 32 points) can secure a win against Sydney who sit in 15th place on 18 points.

It’s poised to be a close and exciting fourth grade contest down at Ryde Oval when the well-performing Uni (2nd place, 42 points) battle it out with Sydney (also on 42 points). Both teams will be eager for the win and have ladder leaders Manly-Warringah (48 points) in their sights.

In the Triforce Sports Metropolitan Cup, reigning premiers Sydney University will take on Randwick Petersham Green at Alexandria Park on Saturday. Uni are ranked 2nd on 46 points trailing Penrith on 62 points, while Randwick Petersham Green sit down the ladder in 6th place on 24 points.

It will be another full weekend of cricket and SUCC will be out on the ovals to leave winning marks across the board in Round 11.
