Not sure about when to have a shave and use the styling moose or bring your favourite bat to the game just in case Dave makes a suprise visit with his camera? Below is a memo from Dave to Geoff de Mesquita.

I will also try to make the 20/20 games on the 9th November.
Thanks to all the VOLUNTEERS!
“Saturday, the Club hosted 4 matches at the Sydney University Grounds.
A physically disabled Club Secretary arrived at the University 1 Oval, at
about 8.15am looking very nervous, carrying 100 bread rolls and one very blunt bread knife, a finger heavily strapped, having replaced the thin bandaid provided by the emergency ward at RPA with a splint and a metre of bandage.
The early arrival of an unusually fresh faced first grade scorer, Martin Amy, took some pressure off this scribe, setting up the scoring facilities, opening the score board. The scribe was still nervous with confidence totally lost in the art of cutting bread rolls. How were we going to host four matches, get drinks to all the grounds, prepare some 80 rolls and make sure that the lollies taken out with the drinks break at University 1 were to the satisfaction of our first grade players?
Fortunately, making his University debut at University No 1 was Matthew Morgan. Along came "M&M's" mum, Helen Morgan, with Hubby and dog ready to have a relaxing day watching her son keep and bat. One look at me, the canteen and my finger, (the fake bandage worked), and Helen was in the canteen, cleaning washing and setting it up as the internationally acclaimed canteen that it once was, (I was on the outside looking in). Then arrived our injured Gus Glynne, marshalled into action by Helen, and the chain process was set up. 80 rolls were cut, 40 meat and salad rolls glad wrapped, 40 chicken burger rolls ready, and not a crumb on the floor.
The lunch time rush was handled comfortably.
With third grade over early afternoon, third grade scorer, Les (its OK!) Carrington, did an "OK" job in the back room sorting out all the remaining Club attire, although his endeavours were not rewarded when he could not find anything XXXL to fit him, and Les will continue to get fined in third grade for being out of uniform.
Another injured player, Kevin Desai arrived in time to help with the first drinks break. Club Chairman, Michael O'Sullivan helped out in the canteen in the afternoon and did some late washing up.
Helen Morgan was presented with a Club Polo shirt for her fantastic efforts in her first home game.
In the words of the team song, how did we host four matches? How did we do it? Easy(at least for me).
With Craig Withers, ever present at the canteen, when son Chris is playing at home, and other parents and supporters seemingly happy to help when they can, the Club is starting to flourish off the field and soon supporters polo shirts will be seen around the Grounds, as we see with other Clubs. Other volunteer parents and friends are always welcome. The more the less chance of injury to me"

2007-08 Awards Dinner huge success.
The gala event was MC'd by our own Pete Sanders. Pete did a commendable job to keep the night on course, introduce award presenters and slip in a few anecdotal memories from the year to keep the audience amused.
A few people received multiple awards on the night, but the big one, Clubman of the year, went to 2nd grade captain Dave Butchart. Dave graced the audience with a speech displaying his passion for SUCC, describing how he has met his best mates from within the club and also sharing how networking inside the club is a valuable asset for all of the club members. Dave challenged SUCC members to become more involved with the day to day running and organization of SUCC to achieve the rewards he described.
Many people who did not receive awards were thanked by Mick O'Sullivan and others when they had a chance behind the microphone. The one who received most praise was of course, Geoff de Mesquita, club secretary. Others included scorers, selectors, Club coach Matthew Phelps, all the grade captains (all 6 teams made the finals), Greg Matthews and also Dave Stanton for his photographic and related talents. There must have been more, but apologies if your name wasn't mentioned.
