The ‘1864 Club’
The ‘1864 Club’ came into being in 2009/10. The 1864 date recognizes that the Sydney University Cricket Club was first formed in the 1864-65 season and that the Club has had a proud tradition in cricket in Sydney for almost 150 consecutive years.
The ‘1864 Club’ was formed when a group of us decided to band together to formalize our affection for the Club which we played for or supported.
The ‘1864 Club’ does not seek to raise funds or to stand in opposition to other arms of the Club, especially the SUCC  Foundation which has raised extraordinary amounts of money which is being put to the best possible use to further  cricket within the University. Simply put we in the 1864 just want to ‘friend raise’ or ‘fun raise’, rather than to ‘fund raise’
A payment of $50.00 will make you an ‘1864 Club’ member for life. In return you will get an 1864 Club tie for men and a scarf for women. You will also be sent regular emails throughout the season which will give reports on the Club’s activities on and off the field. You will also receive invitations to all Club functions and any payment will be reduced for’ 1864 Club’ members.
In addition there will also be ‘1864 Club’ gatherings at various 1st grade games at No 1 Oval during the season. (Already this season, ‘1864 Club’ members have gathered to renew acquaintances   and to support the 2010/11 version of the Club in the home games against St George and Gordon this season. Incidentally both these games were handsomely won by the SUCC 1st grade.
Please refer to the membership form for details to join the ‘1864 Club’.
